Equipment restrictions
- Mobile phones – may be used within the court building but must be switched to silent in court.
- Tape recorders – must not be brought into the court building
- Cameras – must not be brought into the court building
- Laptops with web enabled devices may be used within the court building.
Conduct of attendees via remote access
- Remote access attendees are reminded that this hearing is a solemn court proceeding and therefore they must conduct themselves as if they were in a physical Courtroom
- Attendees must not interrupt the proceedings in any way
- Under no circumstances should an attendee take, or attempt to take, a ‘screenshot’, ‘screengrab’, photograph or any other method of capturing/preserving an image that appears over the video link nor make, or attempt to make, an audio video or other form of recording of these proceedings
The Pillar Room is functioning as a Courtroom for the duration of these proceedings. The usual court conventions apply, including the following:
- No photography
- No audio recording
- No video recording
- No media interviews
- No media access to the adjacent family room
The Courtroom is located within an active hospital facility. For the privacy of both patients and staff entering and leaving the hospital grounds, members of the media are instructed to confine their activities to outside the perimeter of the hospital site.
It is imperative that the media clear the Courtroom and grounds promptly at the conclusion of each days proceedings.

Witness Update
The Coroner wishes to express her thanks to witnesses for their assistance to date in the preparation for these inquests. This contribution is not only of help to the Coroner’s investigation, but also to the families of the deceased and those effected by the tragic events of the Stardust Fire.
If you are required to attend as a witness at the hearings, you will be informed well in advance of the date, and a copy of your deposition (statement) will be made available to you.

Pre-Inquest Hearing X 2nd February 2022
The tenth pre-inquest hearing is scheduled to take place at 2pm on the 2nd of February at the RDS Dublin. Due to the current pandemic restrictions and in the interest of the health and safety of all court users, these proceedings will be conducted with reduced attendance. Members of the press wishing to attend remotely should check the media section of our website for live links the day before the hearing.
