As members of the public will now be aware, the Stardust Inquests are due to commence on the 17th of April 2023 with the empanelling of a jury, with the hearing of Inquests commencing on the 19th April 2023. Since these new inquests were directed, agents for the Senior Coroner have made efforts to locate as many witnesses as possible.
Over the coming weeks, witnesses will be receiving letters from the Coroner’s office confirming their attendance at the Inquests and informing them of the start date. The Coroner’s office is very grateful for the numerous individuals who have indicated their willingness to give evidence. Witness evidence is the most essential aspect of these Inquests and the Coroner appreciates the many witnesses who are willing to give up their time to assist with this process.
The Coroner is conscious that some time has passed since certain witnesses were canvassed. With that in mind, the Coroner’s office are available to assist with any queries you might have and will furnish witnesses with their statements to refresh their memories before they give evidence.
